Het Utrechtse Huis by Krista Wamsteker

In Krista Wamsteker's world, different painting techniques and subjects can coexist perfectly well, the work is therefore very diverse but always connected by her personal view on things.

The Utrecht house is not being cleaned; the cleaning cloths must be painted in a classical technique. Yellow chairs and vases roam around and are captured ‘alla prima’ with a limited palette. And outside on the Nieuwegracht, a white table, the dog toilet and Debby can be observed.

Krista studied at Art Academy St. Joost/ Avans Hogeschool in Breda from 2001 to 2005. Since 2017, she studies at the Wackers Academy in Amsterdam.

She draws and paints by observation and from memory with clear forms, meticulous compositions and an idiosyncratic use of colour.
